Vijayanagara: A crane carrying the Ganesha idol tilted during the procession, crushing one youth and injuring another.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok (18).
The incident happened during the Ganesha visarjan procession. People became trapped between the crane and the sidewalls of a bridge when it tilted to one side while carrying the Ganesha idol.
While Ashok was killed on spot, a few others were injured.
The fire service department and the police rushed to the scene after learning about the incident and rescued the people.
