Vijayanagara: In a shocking incident, a Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited (GESCOM) section officer was caught by the Lokayukta while accepting a bribe at the GESCOM Office in Hagaribommanahalli Town on Friday October 28.
The Lokayukta officials conducted a raid and detained GESCOM Section Officer H. Fakirappa while he was accepting bribe. The Lokayukta Police conducted the raid following a complaint lodged by Dadapeer, a farmer from Bandihalli Village in Hagaribommanahalli Taluk.
The GESCOM official has been demanded Rs. 15,000 for the change after a TC was burnt in a field in Bandihalli village. The officer had taken Rs. 2,000 as advance from Dadapeer. While disbursing Rs. 4,000 at GESCOM Assistant Executive Engineer Office the officials conducted a raid and detained Section Officer H. Fakirappa.
