
Kukke Temple Tops Karnataka’s Revenue Charts with ₹155.95 Crore in 2024–25
Subrahmanya: The revered Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple has once again cemented its position as Karnataka’s highest-earning shrine, posting an astounding income of ₹155.95 crore for the financial year 2024–25.
As per recent figures, the temple’s earnings rose by ₹9.94 crore compared to the previous year’s ₹146.01 crore. The lion’s share of the revenue was derived from religious services, especially the Sarpa Samskara ritual, alongside generous devotee offerings and donations.
In contrast, the temple’s expenditure during the same period amounted to ₹79.82 crore, indicating prudent financial management under the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department.
A major pilgrimage center for devotees within and beyond Karnataka, Kukke Sri Subrahmanya is famous for its age-old serpent worship traditions and spiritual legacy. The temple continues to draw thousands annually, who seek divine blessings and participate in sacred rites.
Kukke has consistently ranked first in temple revenues across the state, with the Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple typically occupying second place. With this year’s income, Kukke is poised to lead the department’s official revenue rankings once again.

• 2011–12: ₹56.24 crore
• 2020–21: ₹68.94 crore
• 2021–22: ₹72.73 crore
• 2022–23: ₹123 crore
• 2023–24: ₹146.01 crore
• 2024–25: ₹155.95 crore
The consistent financial growth underscores the temple’s spiritual prominence and cultural significance across generations.
