Chikkamagalur: The Tahsildar Office had a rare visitor among many people awaiting the arrival of the area legislator to solve their woes in the town.

She was none other than 110-year-old Subbamma, a resident of Badavanadinne in Kulur village limits eagerly awaiting response to her long pending plea, seeking title deeds, from the taluk administration.

“I have been cultivating the 4-acre land for over 40 years but have not received the title deed still date. I had submitted my application staking claim for the land in Survey No 173 of Kolur village in the year 1989 to the then Tahsildar, but in vain. I learnt about MLA Ninagaiah’s arrival at the office today and remain hopeful of a solution”, Subbamma said, sitting at the entrance of Tahsildar Office.

“I have three sons and a daughter and all are well settled in life. My husband Subbegowda, during his life time, divided our property among my children”, she said.

“I dream of owning the land in which I cultivated areca and coffee plants for 4 decades”, she said.

Other visitors to the office were seen expressing words of compassion towards the lady, determined despite being frail.

Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) B B Ningaiah, who arrived at the fag end of the day at 5.30 PM assured the old lady of resolving the issue before elections.
