Chikkamagaluru: The Central Government is misusing autonomous institutions to suppress the voice of those who criticise the misrule of the Government, stated Congress protestors.

Congress leaders staged a protest in the City on Sunday March 26 alleging that the Modi goverznment had murdered Democracy by disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from parliament.

All India Congress Committe General Secretary B. M. Sandeep said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government is ruling in favour of people like Ambani and Adani at a protest organised by District Congress leaders and workers at Hanumanthappa Circle in the City. “Capitalists like Nirav Modi and Mallya are spending crores of rupees on the Government’s coffers because of the policies of this regime of the Modi Government. It is known that they have left the Country at a loss. In this context, Rahul Gandhi had earlier criticised that there are a lot of thieves in the name of Modi in the Country,” he said.

“The complaint was filed by Purnesh Modi in a Surat Court in Gujarat against his remarks, which was heard by the judge who ruled against Rahul and sentenced him to two years in jail. He has also been given time to file an appeal. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi misused his power to disqualify Rahul Gandhi from his Membership of Parliament. Rahul Gandhi has been raising his voice against the anti-people policies of the Central Government in Parliament and it is out of this fear that the Central Government has taken this step. This is an act against the Constitution and a murder of Democracy,” he said.
