Chikkamagaluru: Officer from Education Department caught taking bribe

Chikkamagaluru: When accepting a bribe from a teacher for placement in a school, the Kadur Block Education Officer K. N. Jayanna fell into the Lokayukta’s trap.

Assistant Teacher N. S. Rajappa had offered a bribe of Rs. 15,000 to K. N. Jayanna. It was then under the guidance of Lokayukta Deputy Superintendeng of Police Tirumalesh, the Circle Inspectors Sachin, B. Mallikarjun and the staff raided and arrested him.

Rajappa who was on duty at G. Thimmapura Government Higher Primary School urged for transfer to Garje Village Government Higher Primary School and for the same K. N. Jayanna demanded the bribe. On, Tuesday Rajappa was giving a bribe to Jayanna at the G. Thimmapura Gate on the National Highway and thus Jayanna was caught red-handed.
