Chikkamagaluru: Deputy Commissioner K. N. Ramesh said that the restrictions imposed earlier at Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudangiri Swamy Dargah have been lifted.
Addressing a press conference at the DC’s Office Auditorium in the City, he said that some restrictions had been imposed in the past. In 2006, the court had issued an order to maintain status quo. On March 30, 2018, Retired Judge Nagamohandas had submitted the report. The report was challenged in the court, he said.
In 2015, a single-judge bench had ordered that status quo be maintained till the State Government takes a decision on the issue of Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudangiri Swamy Dargah. It was decided not to consider the report submitted by Justice Nagamohan Das. The court had ordered the State Government to take a decision in 2022, he said.
