Chikkamagaluru: District In-Charge Minister K. Gopalaiah said that the Central and State Governments are working hard to find a permanent solution to the problem of wild elephants in Malnad region.
He was speaking at a meeting organised at the Office of Hassan District Growers’ Association in the Town on Saturday December 10. The Government is making sincere efforts to solve the problem. In order to avoid loss of lives, 10 more wild elephants have been instructed to be installed with radio collars, he noted.
“The Government has earmarked funds for the deepening of the solar fence. However, it is not feasible as the Forest is far away. In all 50 per cent discount has already been given for solar fencing, he said.
