Chikkamagaluru: District Congress President Dr. K. P. Anshumanth has alleged that rampant corruption in the BJP Government has led to slowing down of the progress of the State.

He was speaking at a preparatory meeting on organising a convention of District Congress Scheduled Caste workers at the District Congress office in the City on March 23 and said that people are fed up with corruption being rampant in all constituencies in the State BJP Government. He said there was no limit to corruption, including the Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) scam, the lecturers recruitment exam scam, and the 40 per cent scam in awarding contracts.

“The Lokayukta has found crores of rupees of illegal money in the house of MLA Madalu Virupakshappa. The procession of Virupakshappa, who had escaped from the Lokayukta, by BJP workers amounts to supporting corruption. The Government’s complete failure to arrest and prosecute him is a testimony to corruption,” he said.

The District Congress Scheduled Caste Workers’ Convention being organised in the City on March 23 has to be held very successfully and thereby the work of awakening the people should take place. He said that the District Congress would extend all possible cooperation for the grand and meaningful conduct of the conference.
