Chikkamagaluru: Residents of Beranagodu Village in District staged a protest in the City demanding that the road be developed.

The villagers took out a procession from the Taluk Office in the City to Azad Park. They alleged that there are more than 130 houses in Beranagodu Village and about 8 kms of the main road, where labourers, school children and many others travel every day for work, has been completely damaged.

There have been times when many people have lost their lives due to road chaos as they are unable to reach the hospital on time. It is also the road that connects villages to District headquarters. This issue has been brought to the notice of the elected representatives several times, but to no avail.

During the protest, the villagers said that they would not hesitate to boycott the upcoming elections if the road was not repaired.
