Hassan: Rajendra Simha younger brother of Mysuru-Madikeri MP Pratap Simha and his friends reportedly assaulted a farmer and his mother on August 2 in Sakleshpur.
According to a complaint filed by Deepak, a farmer from Sakleshpur, four friends of Rajendra assulted the farmer, broke his leg and attacked his mother too. The complaint was filed at the Sakleshpur Rural police station.
The incident came to light only on Sunday. Deepak, in the complaint stated that the group of friends in a car wanted to wash their vehicle in a stream ,Deepak too was at the stream washing his cattle. They asked Deepak to leave, but as he refused, a heated argument ensued and the gang members who were reportedly drunk started beating up Deepak. His mother who came to rescue her son, was assaulted too. The gang members fled from the spot after the assault.
Police traced the car which was owned by Darshan from Jamabarahalli near Hanbal of Sakleshpur based on the complaint.
Sources said that Rajendra has denied being invovled in the assault. The sources said, that Rajendra has reportedly said that “If it is proved that I assaulted Deepak, then authorities can initiate action against me.”
Deepak said, “Rajendra was at the spot with his friends when I was attacked. But I cannot confirm whether Rajendra too joined them while assaulting me.”
