Hassan: The Janata Dal (Secular) will not come to power in the upcoming elections and BJP is power by buying MLAs, said Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Addressing a gathering after unveiling the statues of Kanakadasa and Sangolli Rayanna at Belagooli Village in the Taluk, he said, “Politics has created a bad situation today. The BJP came through Operation Lotus. When in power, they’re just looting. I have never seen such a corrupt Government in my 40 years of political career, he added.

Further he said “Even after the double-engine Government came to power, there has been no development. The BJP is corrupt. Kempanna complained to Modi that only loot was going on in the Government and that he was victim of 40% commission Government but to no avail.” The Prime Minister has said, na kaonga na kaane doonga. However, it is a lie. He criticised that the walls of Vidhana Soudha is echoing of bribe stories.

“RSS Founder Hedgewar did not take part in the freedom struggle. Bhagat Singh was also not an RSS member. BJP’s single person has not sacrificed in the freedom struggle. The BJP is silent on my offer to come for a live discussion on the issue on a public platform,” he said. He challenged the BJP to come and discuss if they have the ability to do so.

“We are celebrating Kanakadasa’s 535th birth anniversary. In 1988, when Senior Bommai became the Chief Minister, I was the Transport Minister and we celebrated the 500th birth anniversary of Kanakadasa. Then it became an inspiration,” he said. He also unveiled a statue of freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna and wished him to be a guiding light for the youth of the country.
