Hassan: As the heat for the Assembly elections in the state is increasing day by day, the cooker given to voters by Belur BJP candidate and BJP District President Hullahalli Suresh exploded.
The incident took place at Sanyasihalli in Belur Taluk when Belur BJP candidate H. K. Suresh had earlier distributed cookers to voters. However, one cooker exploded at the house of one Sheshamma when it was kept for cooking rice.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, but a major mishap that could have occurred was averted. As soon as the matter came to light, the election officials visited several villages, took it back and also warned that some of the cookers were exploding.
more than 40 cookers were seized under by the Taahsildar Mamta.
