Hassan: Shravanabelagola MLA and HDCC Bank Director C. N. Balakrishna said that farmers should register themselves and avail health benefits under the Yashaswini Health Insurance Scheme, which has been re-introduced by the Government.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 69th All India Co-operative Week at Channakeshavegowda Kalyana Mantapa in the Town. Farmers and co-operative societies had demanded for the Yashaswini Scheme. Following this, the State Government has issued an order re-implementing the successful scheme. For this, Rs. 300 Crore has been announced in the budget for 2022-23, he said.
During the tenure of H. D. Kumaraswamy as Chief Minister, he had allowed the cooperative sector to provide loans for dairy and businesses including a loan waiver scheme for the farmers. The local MLAs have laid emphasis on the development of Belur by bringing in funds when our own Government is not there,” he said.
