Hassan: The 14-day long ‘Jatra’ festival of Sri Hasanamba concluded here on Thursday October 27. The doors of Sri Hasanamba temyple, which offers darshan to devotees only once a year, were formally closed at 12.47 pm on Thursday October 27.
In the presence of District in-charge Minister K. Gopalaiah, MLA Preetham Gowda, Deputy Commissioner M. S. Archana, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Kantharaju and Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, the doors of Sri Hasanamba Temple amid cheers from thousands of devotees.
The District Administration estimates that as many as 6 lakh devotees have had darshan of Hasanamba this year.
According to Temple Administrator B. A. Jagadeesh, 20,000 to 30,000 devotees came in every day and 30,000 to 40,000 devotees had visited on holidays.
