Hassan: Former Minister H D Revanna has urged BJP National President J P Nadda and State Unit President Nalin Kumar Kateel to go through the documents and then make a speech on the contribution of JD(S) towards the development of Hassan district.

Speaking to mediapersons at the MP’s residence in the city recently, BJP National President Nadda, who held meetings in Belur and Hassan recently, boasted that other projects, including railways for Hassan District, were taken up during the tenure of the BJP government.

He said, “But I have a clear record of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and I implementing the railway projects on Hassan, Alur, Belur-Chikkamagaluru route through discussions with the Union Railway Minister,’ he said.

“It will also be forwarded to Nadda and Kateel and informed, he said and challenged them to speak with the record while delivering a speech in the District at any time in the future.

He held talks with Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari regarding the work on National Highways passing through the District and took all possible steps to convert the roads on Hassan-Belur-Bilikere Route into National Highway and the work will start in a few days.

But it is ridiculous that BJP National General Secretary, C. T. Ravi, is also saying that the project was done by the BJP Government itself,” Revanna said.

Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa himself, in his farewell speech, has said that the BJP Government has not done any work for Hassan District.

“Those who criticised the Hassan-Mandya Budget when Hassan released more funds to Mandya and Ramanagara during the 14-month tenure of H. D. Kumaraswamy are now saying that there has been development from our party. During our tenure a hospital with 1500 beds were constructed. So thousands of people’s lives have been saved during the Corona scare. I will not speak without documents,” he said.
