Hassan: MLA K. M. Shivalingegowda has challenged BJP Spokesperson and RTI Activist Ramesh to conduct a probe if he has done any illegality or any wrongdoing behind the Rs. 250 Crore irregularities committed by him.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP Spokesperson Ramesh alleged that around Rs. 150 Crore of the funds to be used for the Yettinahole Project in his Constituency have been illegally utilised for Arasikere Road.

“He has lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta in this regard. I have been named as an accused on April 1. But so far my constituency may have received the highest grant of Rs. 75 – 80 Crore from the Government from the Yettinahole project,” he said.

“As an MLA, I may have applied to the Government ministers and Chief Minister to build a road for my Constituency under the Yettinahole scheme. But in reply to my letter, the Government Ministers have given orders,” he said.

My Constituency has received Rs. 75 to 80 Crore grant so far in the NREGA scheme as well. I have also worked on it impartially. We have carried out the work. But only the complainant Ramesh has projected Rs 150 Crore as illegal,” he said and challenged him to prove it.

Shivalingegowda said that in the State Government itself, irrigation schemes like Yettinahole, Bhadra Yojana, Upper Bhadra Project, Cauvery etc. have provided basic amenities to the Constituency by providing funds to the Constituency. A defamation case will be filed in the court against the persons who have alleged that all the works have been done legally in my Assembly constituency, he added.
