Hassan: Holenarasipura Taluk Kurubara Sangha and Halli Mysuru Hobli Kurubara Sangha will jointly inaugurate the statue of Sangolli Rayanna at Shravananur Village on Friday January 13, according to Association President Bagevalu Manjegowda.
Addressing a media conference here, he said that Niranjana Nandapuri Swamiji will grace the unveiling of Sangolli Rayanna Statue at Shravananur on Friday at 3.00 pm and Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be present.
Siddaramaiah and Swamiji will take part in the procession from Sangolli Rayanna Circle along with various art troupes and appealed to all district and taluk leaders of the State to participate in the event. The members of Sangolli Rayanna Fans’ Forum should participate and make the event a success, he stressed.
Earlier, there was confusion over the installation of the statue and a peace meeting was held in the Village under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner and the District Superintendent of Police and now a 9-feet bronze statue of Sangolli Rayanna is being installed on a private land.
All the communities of the Village agreed to this and made it clear that there was no confusion. Earlier, when the statue was installed, it was suddenly unveiled without knowing that it was a State Highway, so there was confusion in the Village and the statue was removed. Now the case has come to a happy end and the official unveiling of the statue will be held on January 13, he said.
