Hassan: The Police has arrested two persons in connection with a case in which one person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting incident while fishing, said Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar.
Addressing a press conference at his office here on Wednesday January 11, he said that the arrested have been identified as Nagaraju alias Dubasi (60) and Anil (28), residents of Thambugere Village in Yasalur Hobli of Sakleshpur Taluk in the District.
At around 8.00 pm on Monday January 9, Rajachari, Dayananda, Padmanabha, and Naveen, residents of Tambalageri Village in Yasalur Hobli, Sakleshpur Taluk, who were friends were fishing in the Doddagadda pit next to the Village.
Naveen, Dayananda and Padmanabha were standing on the banks of the pit, while Piradi was sitting on the bank of the pit when he suddenly heard a gunshot and immediately Naveen screamed loudly and fell on the water bank. Dayananda and Padmanabha were screaming and struggling.
Naveen died on the spot after a bullet pierced his chest and other places, bleeding in his mouth and nose. Dayananda was bleeding from his waist and hands and Padmanabha was bleeding from a hand. Anil and Nagaraju alias Dubasi, who came there, admitted Dayananda and Padmanabha to a Government Hospital in Hassan for treatment and they are undergoing treatment.
Based on a complaint lodged by Rajachari seeking action against the accused, a case was registered at Yasalur Police Station and the accused were arrested.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the police revealed that the case was of murder for personal enmity.
