ACB sleuths catch PWD manager red handed receiving bribe

Shivamogga: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials raided the Public Works Department office on Thursday, October 31, during which the manager was caught red handed accepting bribes.

The accused has been identified as Sheik Mohammad Rafi, who was caught red handed at the PWD Superintendent office located in Durgigudi.

ACB officials conducted the raid after receiving reliable information. Rafi is said to have been receiving a bribe of Rs 5000 for a Class 3 Contract License from Siddana Gowda of the Jagalur taluk in the Davangere district, when he was caught.

According to sources, he had demanded a payment of Rs 10000.

The team that conducted the raid was led by ACB Inspector Tippeswamy.
