Shivamogga: District in-charge minister KS Eshwarappa said that the arrangements have been made to distribute title deeds to 5531 families of 34 slums identified in the range of Shivamogga Urban Council.
Speaking at a press conference at the DC office on Thursday April 29, he said that the state government has already issued title deeds to enable the families of declared slums to own the government-owned land that comes under the urban local bodies.
The government has also reduced the rate for issuing these title deeds. In the municipal and town panchayat jurisdiction, a sum of Rs. 2 thousand for scheduled caste and tribes and Rs 1 thousand for the disabled has been fixed, the minister informed.
A total of 26732 residents of 5531 families in the declared slums in Shimoga City will be benefitted from this, he added.
