Shivamogga: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has predicted a massive victory for the BJP in the by-poll results that will be out tomorrow, December 9.
Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga, on Sunday, the CM said that the BJP will bag 13 out of 15 seats and opposition-Congress and the JDS will have to be happy with just one seat each.
He was in the city take part in the wedding ceremony of Assembly Speaker Vishwanath Hegade Kageri. “Tomorrow’s results will usher in the era of stable government. For the next three and half years, the state will see a stable and a pro-poor government,” he said.
Meanwhile, he also urged the opposition to co-operate and the support the government in bringing in many pro-people, pro-poor and pro-farmer programmes.
The by-polls for 15 constituencies in the state were held on December 5 and the results of the same will be out tommorrow. The exit polls in the state have hinted at the BJP winning nine seats.
Black flag protest
Members of Tipu Sahara Committee members staged a black flag protest against the CM during his visit today, condemning the state govrnment’s decision to cancel Tipu Jayanthi celebrations. As many as ten members of the Committee were detained by the police. The committee members were demanding revoking of the decision and allowing the celebrations in the state.
