Shivamogga: Former MLA Prasanna Kumar has demanded that BJP leader and state minister K S Eswarappa resign for his complete failure to maintain law and order in the district.
In a press statement, Kumar alleged that the minister had failed to create a peaceful atmosphere by not making any attempts to defuse the situation.
It can be recalled that a young girl was gang-raped at the McGann hospital in the district on Saturday. Additionally, just last week, clashes between two communities caused tension and even led to a curfew for a few days.
The recent heinous gang-rape at McGann hospital has shaken the entire district. It is not just a disaster but a failure of this government, the former MLA added.
He also alleged that the ‘Smart City’ has turned into an ‘Ugly City’ as citizens of the district have repeatedly been complaining about the poor state of businesses.
“Instead of focusing on such pertinent issues, people are making derogatory statements about caste and religion,” he added.
