Shivamogga: A senior member of the banned CPI (Maoist) State Committee, named as Hosagadde Prabha alias Sandhya, from Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru District has surrendered in Tirupattur on Sunday December 19. With Prabha’s arrest naxal movement in Karnataka has almost ceased to function.
Deputy Inspector General of Police A. G. Babu (Vellore Range) has informed that the woman has 44 cases against her in Karnataka.
According to the DIG, she has now ‘reformed’ and surrendered before the Tirupattur Police Superintendent.
She is the wife of another naxal leader B. G. Krishnamurthy who was arrested along with naxalite Savithri from Kerala. She along with her husband had moved towards Kerala and went underground fearing arrest when Anti-Naxal Force increased its vigilance in Karnataka. She was assumed to have died a decade ago. However, there was no confirmation.
