Shivamogga: Senior BJP leader and state minister K S Eshwarappa has taken objection to the recent glorification of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s son B Y Vijayendra, after their Sira by-poll victory.
During a recent news conference, KSE said that the Sira victory cannot be attributed to one person alone as it was the collective efforts of the party workers that delivered the result.
“A section of the media has been glorifying Vijayendra. The party has given the responsibility to Vijayendra and other party workers as well. It doesn’t mean that Vijayendra hasn’t worked. However, giving all the credit for the victory to one person is wrong,” he said.
DCM Govind Karjol, Suresh Gowda, Vijayendra were given the responsibility of the Sira constituency and they all have worked very hard, he said adding that similarly, Revenue Minister R Ashok and DCM Ashwath Narayan were given the responsibility of the Raja Rajeshwari Nagar constituency.
“It was because their efforts, backed by the party workers, that the BJP won in both the Assembly segments,” he said.
