Shivamogga: “Under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme the process of registration for paddy buying will take place in seven Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) from December 5 to 15,” said Deputy Commissioner K A Dayanand.

“This time around we have introduced a change in the registration process, in which the farmers have to provide samples of paddy weighing half to 1 kilogram. “Collecting paddy from farmers of other districts is strictly prohibited,” he added.
He said that when the farmers get the full bag of paddy and give it to the mill owners, the latter are supposed to pay Rs 6 per empty bags.
“The amount must be deposited to the accounts of the farmers within three days’ time”, said Dayanand.
