Shivamogga: Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa said that the state will have more than sufficient dose of Covid vaccines available in the next couple of days, and all districts will get the vaccines as per its population.

He was speaking to media persons after the quarterly KDP meeting of Shikaripura Taluk Panchayat here in the district on Friday June 11.

In the State, the Covid numbers are expected to be in control within the next one week. The deputy commissioners of the districts with high Corona rates have already been instructed to take stringent measures to reduce the positivity to less than 5%, he added.

The government has already been transferring financial aid directly to the bank accounts of the disadvantaged classes affected due to Covid. In this case, the banks should not adjust the same to recover their pending loans, he said and warned that any such incidents reported the respective bank officials will be dealt with sternly.

Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur Railway Track Project works should be expedited. The land acquisition process must be completed within the stipulated time and the plan needs implemented, he instructed.

Build homes for every eligible poor in the taluk. If the site is not available for this purpose, action must be taken to purchase such sites. It is our responsibility to provide a house for every eligible person including people of Scheduled Caste, Tribes and Backward Classes, he noted.

MP B. Y. Raghavendra said that many irrigation projects in taluk are being implemented as expected. The irrigation project of Uduguni Talagunda will be completed next month. The task of administering Covid vaccine in taluk is being systematically carried out. So far 45,000 people have been given the first dose and 5000 have been given the second dose, he added.
