Shivamogga: With rumours and news of in fights and factions, disagreements and contempt brewing within the JD(S) house, former minister and JD(S) leader H D Revanna has said that there is only one faction in the JD(S) and that is the ‘Deve Gowda-Kumaraswamy’ faction.
Addressing the reporters on Thursday in Shivamogga, he said that JD(S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda has already announced that H D Kumaraswamy will be the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate and there is no dispute in this.
“There are leaders in the party who have the capability to become the CM, but we will stand by the decision of the party Supremo,” he said adding that the party sees bright future for itself in the state and that there are no questions of joining hands with any party in the upcoming assembly polls.
“The party will field candidates in all the 224 constituencies of the state. The candidates for 140 constituencies have been finalised and the list of all the candidates will be released soon. We do not have dearth of candidates. There are many individuals aspiring to fight from JD(S) ticket. It is the Congress, which lacks able candidates. That is the reason why they hijacked our member for Nanjangud by polls,” he said.
With regard to party’s vision for the upcoming polls, Revanna said that the BJP may proclaim Mission 150 and even the Congress may say that they will also win over 150 constituencies, but the JD(S) is aiming at and confident of winning 113 seats.
Answering a query if his son Prajwal Revanna will be contesting elections in 2018, Revanna said that as of now they are firm on the decision of only two persons from Deve Gowda family contesting the polls.
