Shivamogga: A police constable of the Tunga Police Station has been caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on corruption charges, on Monday, December 16.
The accused police constable is identified as Narayan Swamy.
According to ACB officials, Narayan is said to have asked for a bribe of Rs 7000 in connection with the sand mafia.
The accused was caught red-handed today morning by the ACB sleuths, when receiving the bribe amount at the Apollo Medicals located in front of the Gopala bus station.
The raid was conducted under the leadership of ACB DySP Manoj Kumar, Assistant Investigating Officer Veerendra, Inspector Tippeswamy, staff Vasanth, Nagaraj, Raghu, and Surendra.
Meanwhile, a case has been filed against the accused in the ACB Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
