Shivamogga: Ravi Belagere is in boiling water yet again after the additional JMFC court in the district of Sagar, on December 23, issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him, further instructing the commissioner of Bengaluru to execute the said warrant.
This warrant, however, is in connection with a case filed by S Lingaraj, the convener of Dalit Sangharsh Samiti’s Sagar town unit and member of Bagar Hukum Samiti, against an article published in Belagere’s tabloid ‘Hai Bangalore’ in 2010, defaming the complainant. The case will is set to be heard on Jan 18.
The court judge, Felix Alanso Antony, previously issued a body warrant against Belagere after he failed to appear before the court at a hearing which was withdrawn following the sessions court in Bengaluru granting an interim bail to Belagere after considering his health condition.
