Shivamogga: Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa’s son Vijendra has reacted to the issue of BSY giving up Shikaripura seat on Friday July 22.
Vijendra said that he would follow his father’s guidance and the party’s decision. After offering Bagina at Anjanapura Dam he said, “I will take the next decision on the basis of my father’s statement. As the State Vice-President, it is my duty to tour the State. I have organised the party in the past. I’ll do it in future too.”
Stating that leaders and activists of Shikaripura had put pressure on his father, and that a month ago, BSY came to Bengaluru and put pressure on him. Thus, his father announced this decision today, he said.
“I will for the party to decide on this. Based on that, I will make a decision. There is no question of me putting pressure on my father in this matter, he asserted.
Stating that Yediyurappa has no retirement, Vijayendra said that there is no word, ‘retirement’ in his dictionary. In the past too he has worked in organising BJP. He will do it in the future too. While resigning from the CM’s post, he had said the same, Vijayendra added and said that he also challenged the opposition parties that he will bring the BJP back to power with a clear majority. He also travels across the State in this regard, he noted.
