Shivamogga: Fortunately, a major mishap was averted in the backwaters of Sharavati on Saturday November 26 when the driver lost control of the bus and plunged into Sharavati water.
The driver of the bus, which was on its way to Sikandur in the backwaters of the stream gate in Sagara Taluk, lost control and plunged into the backwaters while waiting for the launch.
The passengers saved their lives by getting out of the bus as the bus descended into the backwaters. The bus was then lifted using Hitachi which was being used for the construction of the Sikandur Bridge. A major disaster was averted within a hair’s breadth.
