Shivamogga: A lineman working on an electric pole at Heddur in Theerthahalli Taluk of the District died on the way to hospital after falling from a pole on Thursday January 5.
The deceased has been identified as Ravi Nayaka (37). He fell from a pole while he was working near Heddur and was seriously injured. He was taken to Kattahakkalu Government Hospital and later was asked to shift to Theerthahalli Hospital when arrival of ambulance was delayed and locals had to take him by car resulting in his death while on the way to hospital.
The villagers of Kattahakkalu sat on a dharna in front of the hospital and demanded compensation for the deceased’s family. It is alleged that Ravi died as the ambulance did not arrive on time. The deceased has two small children.
