Shivamogga: Kagodu Thimmappa got Rs. 3.17 Crore for the construction of an indoor stadium in 2017. The grant was brought in, however, Kagodu Thimmappa’s name was not mentioned during the inauguration of the stadium. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) General Secretary Dr. Rajnandini said that the invitation letter was neither given nor there was an invitation as a courtesy.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday November 2, she said the indoor stadium project was implemented in 2017 and Rs. 3.12 Crore was allocated for it. The grant was reserved. Out of this, the first instalment of Rs. 15 lakh was released and the work started. Kagodu Thimmappa, when he was the Speaker and Minister of the Assembly, had sanctioned and initiated many works. He had brought funds for Government First Grade College, market ground, swimming pool and fish market. But it is painful that there is no mention of the money released earlier,” she said.
