Shivamogga: The Police has conducted raid on the houses of PFI activists and the local office of the SDPI. It is learnt a raid has been conducted at five places in Shivamogga.
Though the PFI has been banned, raids were conducted at various places under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner and under the leadership of the PA Revenue Officer as well as the Police. Officials carrying search warrants raided PFI activist Umar Farooque in Gandhi Bazaar and the SDPI Office on the bypass.
Umar Farooque’s house has been locked by the Police. The incident was led by Kunsi Police Station PI Harish Patel and Smart City MD Chidanand Vatare. SDPI’s office was also raided by Kote PI Chandrashekar and Tahasildar Dr. Nagaraj.
Vinoba Nagar PI and Revenue Department went to the house of SDPI District Former President Saleem Khan at Tipu Nagar 7th Turn and got information from his father. Salim Khan was found not at home.
Officials say they are issuing a memorandum of understanding in the backdrop of the organisation being banned. A team led by PI Abhay Prakash of Rural Police Station and SUDA Commissioner Kotresh raided the house of Obaidullah, president of PFI, Gopala Press Colony. It is learnt that Obaidullah was also not at home.
A search was conducted at the house of PFI Former President Rizwana at Gundi Layout on the bypass, where it was also found that the accused were not at home. The raid was led by SIMS CAO Shivakumar. Doddapete Police Station PI Anjan Kumar was involved in the raid.
