Transport workers’ strike marks fourth day today

Shivamogga: As usual, there are private buses at the KSRTC bus station and the students’ woes. Further, tourist bus fares have increased.

On the way to the exit of the KSRTC bus station in Shivamogga, private buses are parked on the way inconveniencing running of KSRTC buses.

For the past four days, employees have expressed outrage at the government for providing a shocking transfer to transport workers who are on strike for duty.

The government is pursuing a bullying tactic by transferring, and we are not afraid of these threats, said Santosh Kumar, District President of KSRTC Employees’ Union. “Our fight will not be crushed by transfer. Our struggle will not stop, aver the employees and added that they will continue to fight till death.”

Warning the government, Santosh Kumar said, “If our demand is not met with, we will protest with our families in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.”
