Shivamogga: Even as speculations are rife that disgruntled Congress leader Ramesh Jarakiholi will be joining the BJP soon, BS Yeddyurappa, BJP state chief has remained away from affirming the same.
Rather, in a confusing statement, BSY has said that the BJP has not extended invitations to anybody to join the party. The talks of Ramesh Jarakiholi joining the BJP has been making rounds over the last several months and couple of days ago, Jarakiholi even announced that he would quit the Congress soon.
Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga on Wednesday, BSY was asked when Jarakiholi would be joining the BJP, to which BSY did not spill out the bean.
Meanwhile, reiterating that the Congress and JDS coalition government will topple after May 23, BSY said that in the II Phase of the elections held in 14 constituencies, the BJP will bag 12 seats for sure. In the remaining 14 constituencies that went into polls on April 18, he said the party would win 10 seats and with 22 seats with the BJP, the coalition government is bound to fall.
The BJP core committee is all set to meet in Bengaluru on Thursday to finalise a lot of issues including the new BJP state chief, he said.
