19 Year Old Loses ₹4.8 Lakh In Online Investment Scam In Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A 19-year-old man, Mujammil Khan Pathan from Bagalkot, was duped of ₹4.8 lakh in an online scam after being lured into making fraudulent investments. According to his complaint, on July 30, Mujammil was added to a WhatsApp group named ‘A3 Stock Market Elite Chat Group’ by unknown individuals. The group shared information about stock market investments, promising high returns.

Convinced by the group’s claims, Mujammil transferred a total of ₹4.8 lakh to various bank accounts between August 23 and September 6. However, he did not receive any returns or the initial amount back. Realizing he had been scammed, he filed a complaint.

A case has been registered at the Udupi Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) police station for further investigation.
