DK SP Orders Major Cop Reshuffle Across District
Mangaluru – In a significant development, Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Dr Arun K has reassigned seven Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and 111 police personnel who had been posted at the same stations for over five years. These transfers involve movement within different units across the district, according to official sources.
The reshuffle includes seven ASIs, 31 head constables, and 78 constables, all of whom had received their transfer orders in recent days. The directive aims to ensure rotational postings and reduce prolonged stints at single locations.
This mass transfer comes shortly after representatives from the Muslim community raised concerns over a number of police staff being stationed at the same posts for extended periods. The community had urged district authorities to consider a reshuffle to maintain impartiality and public confidence.
Responding to the appeal, Home Minister G Parameshwara had instructed SP Arun K to take immediate steps and implement necessary personnel transfers without delay.
Officials noted that the transfers are part of routine administrative processes to enhance efficiency, fairness, and accountability within the police force.
With the reshuffle now in effect, all newly transferred officers are expected to report to their new assignments promptly, ensuring smooth operations and continuity of law enforcement duties throughout the district.
