Mangaluru: Mulki police are ramping up their investigation into the unsettling case of a 35-year-old man, identified as Mouzzan from Kumbarpete, Doddaballapura, who was found unconscious in a train coach. Preliminary reports indicate that Mouzzan, who worked as a sales representative and was differently abled, boarded a train from Yeshwanthpur to Murdeshwar on October 24. His condition was discovered around 10:00-10:15 AM the following morning by a railway guard in the Divyang coach as the train passed near Mulki.
Upon receiving the alert, railway police quickly transported him to a government hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Mulki police were notified, but initial efforts to identify the victim were hampered by the lack of personal documents. However, a label on his shirt collar reading “RS Tailor Chickpete” was shared via a WhatsApp group, leading to his family being located. They arrived in Mulki on Saturday, and the body was subsequently transferred to Wenlock District Hospital for further examination.
Notably, police observed ligature marks around Mouzzan’s neck, raising suspicions of foul play. His family reported several missing items, including a bag and his mobile phone, with the last tower location of the phone recorded near Sakleshpur. Authorities suspect that the victim may have been murdered for financial gain. The postmortem report is pending, and Mulki police teams are actively searching in Bengaluru and Mysuru to apprehend potential suspects.
