Man Arrested for Stabbing Incident Near Mangaluru Railway Station

In Mangaluru, police have apprehended an individual for stabbing a 31-year-old man over a minor altercation near the Mangaluru railway station on Monday.


According to Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal, the victim, identified as Sachin, was attacked by Mohammed Naufal, a 21-year-old resident of Kollam district in Kerala.

Reportedly, Naufal, accompanied by his friend Anas, had arrived at Mangaluru Central Railway Station on Sunday. The trio, including Sachin, who hails from Poonacha, Bantwal, spent the night near the railway station after having dinner together.

However, a quarrel erupted between Naufal and Sachin on Monday morning, with Naufal accusing Sachin of stealing his mobile phone and Rs 1,000. When Sachin refuted the allegations, Naufal resorted to violence, stabbing him with a knife.

Sachin was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently recuperating, with his condition reported to be stable. Naufal was swiftly apprehended by the authorities, and a case has been registered at the South police station under IPC Sections 323, 324, 504, and 307.
