Mysuru: “Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala who is indulging in corrupt practices is also shielding the corrupt Vice chancellor of University of Mysore, K S Rangappa. Hence I have written a letter to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee to take action against Vala and conduct a CBI inquiry against him”, said K S Shivaram, President of Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagruthi Vedike.

Centenary celebrations of University of Mysore will culminate on July 22-1Addressing media persons at Press Club here on Wednesday he said, “Governor Vajubhai Vala suspended VTU Vice Chancellor H Maheshappa and Karnataka University Vice Chancellor H B Walikar for their alleged misuse of funds but he failed to take any action against University of Mysore Vice Chancellor K S Rangappa who is involved in major corruption cases and violations which is far more serious than that of Maheshappa and Walikar. Even the relevant committee after conducting an inquiry had recommended action against Rangappa with the Governor. I don’t know why Vala is protecting such officials. Based on a report submitted by the Justice Bhaktavatsala Committee over KSOU irregularities, over 14 charges were reportedly filed against Rangappa but Governor has considered only two minor corruption charges against Rangappa, M G Krishnan and other six officials. Hence I have sent a notice to the Governor seeking reasons for not taking up 12 other major charges against Rangappa, Krishnan and the rest”.

Raj Bhavan Chalo

“To condemn the Governor’s working style and his interest in shielding corrupt Vice Chancellor K S Rangappa and other officials concerned, we have planned to take out a Raj Bhavan Chalo rally during December first or second week”, Shivaram announced.

‘Mysuru and Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha too protecting KS Rangappa’

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going all out in his efforts to root out corruption in the country but his own party worker Pratap Simha is seen encouraging corrupt Vice Chancellor K S Rangappa. Pratap Simha too had gone to Raj Bhavan to meet Governor asking him not to take any action against Rangappa. I have a lot of respect for Narendra Modi. Hence I request him to too clean up mess inside the party and take action against those involved in protecting corruption officials including vice chancellor”, Shivaram said.

“After taking on corrupt officials including K S Rangappa, I have a threat to my life. After exposing their corrupt activities and misdeeds life is not easy for me. Almost every day I receive threatening calls. The callers threaten to finish me off. After 8 pm I am scared to get out of home but I have decided to continue fighting for justice and for good cause” added Shivaram.
