Mysuru: The BJP’s ‘Raitha Chaitanya Yatre’ campaign is scheduled to be pumped by, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Amit Shah – who will be visit the city to participate in the valedictory at the JK grounds here at 10.30 am on Monday September 14.
The BJP President, who will be arriving at Mandakalli Airport in a chartered flight from New Delhi at 10 am, will drive straight to JK grounds.
The Yatre had been launched by the BJP-Karnataka at Haveri recently to prevail upon the State government to address the problems of farmers. This is the first phase of the Yatre and the party is planning to hold the second round next month to cover remaining parts of the State.
The BJP leaders have made seating arrangements for about 20,000 people and the party is expecting a farmer-gathering of more than 30,000 from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts. The party is said to have hired 300 KSRTC buses, 400 tempos and other vehicles to ferry the farmers from the three districts.
Passes have been distributed to media persons, according to State BJP Media Spokesperson M.G. Mahesh.
BJP leaders including former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, BJP State President Prahlad Joshi and Union Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda will be present at the event among others.
According to the IGP (Southern Range) and in-Charge City Police Commissioner, B.K. Singh, 500 Police personnel, including five Platoons of KSRP, eight Platoons of CAR, under the guidance of two DCPs, eight ACPs, 18 Inspectors of Police led by DCP (Law and Order) Dr. H.T. Shekar, will provide security at J.K. Grounds.
