Mysuru: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s supporters offered Rs 1.6 crores worth protective gold and silver ornaments to deities in the temple premises of Goddess Chamundeshwari to fulfill her 12-year-old vows in a secret manner atop Chamundi hills on October 21.

Supporters of Jayalalithaa on behalf of Jaya publications offered Rs 42 lakhs to deity Ganapathi and Kodanadu estate members offered Rs 1.18 crore worth ornaments to deity Anjaneya and prayed for her speedy recovery.

The deities and the entrance door are already adorned with the new set of ornaments given by Jayalithaa’s supporters to the temple authorities. Ganapathi Temple priest confirmed about 12-year-old vows taken by Jayalalithaa who is now recovering in Chennai’s Apollo hospital.

The temple authorities issued receipts to the TN CM’s supporters after they completed embellishment of deities in the temple and the entrance door with the ornaments brought along by them. They left the temple premises quietly after submitting the offerings and hoped in the divine intervention in healing their leader.
