Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday called on the police force to curb antisocial elements.
The CM was addressing a gathering after taking part in the pass out parade of the 40th batch of Sub-Inspectors at the Karnataka Police Acdemy (KPA) grounds in Nazarbad. “Antisocial elements are involved in disturbing the peace within the society and vigilant police have to curb their activities by identifying them,” he said.
He said the police personnel should be people friendly where citizens feel free to approach them without fear and they should always stand by the righteous and weaker sections of the society to ensure justice. At the same time, he emphasized on providing protection to women and children against whom atrocities are on the rise.
Throwing his weight behind the police force, Siddramaiah said the government supports the police in its deeds and called upon the force to serve with honesty and dedication. He also called upon women to come forward to join the police force and lauded KPA for its excellent training services.
Home minister G Parmeshwara, primary education minister Tanveer Sait, DGP Om Prakash, MLA S R Ramesh and KPA director Vipul Kumar were present on the occasion.
