Mysuru: Two police teams are separately probing into the “mysterious killing” of BJP worker Magali Ravi near Periyapatna in Mysuru district on Friday night. With allegations by the state BJP leaders agog that the Ravi’s was a political murder, police is trying to put the pieces received from the circumstantial evidence together ahead of the autopsy reports.

The post-mortem report is expected in a couple of days which is expected to give the vital leads to the investigation in progress.

However, the circumstantial evidence from the spot where Ravi’s body was found outside Magali village on Friday night is more indicative of an accident, sources in the police said.

An inquest was conducted by the motor vehicle inspector from the Transport Department to verify whether there was actually an accident when Ravi was riding back home on his scooter from Periyapatna town. There will be more clarity in the case once this report is out, Superintendent of Police Ravi D Channannavar said.

Probe is on into the suspicions expressed by Ravi’s family members and the BJP leaders. The deceased’s antecedents and call records are being dug into,” he added. There have been no detentions for questioning so far.
