Mysuru: The Karnataka Police Academy (KPA), a premier training institute in the city received a delegation of the Bavarian State Police, a federal State in Germany which is touring the state and held discussion on wide range of topics with the state police top brass.
The five member delegation is led by Wolfgang Sommer, Commissioner of Training,Bavarian State Police.
KPA director Vipul Kumar gave a power point presentation in the beginning on recruitment and training and on the subjects taught for the new police recruits .
IGP (Training) Alok Kumar, IGP (State Intelligence) B. Dayananda (who held the post of Police Commissioner of Mysuru till recently) gave inputs on training period, syllabus, rules and traffic management.
An interactive session with the police personnel was also held on the occasion.
Later the team visited police commissioner’s office in the city and Lashkar police station. In Lashkar police station the visiting team interacted with women police wing and observed the functioning of women and child helpline centers.
Karnataka Police and the Bavarian State Police had entered into an understanding on strengthening collaboration between the two States.
Mr. Vipul Kumar told the media, that they shared best practices with regard to training and confirmed on continuing collaborative efforts to improve training methods in the future.
