Mysuru: The BJP Government is playing the Hindutva card to rake up communal violence in the State, alleged Former Chief Minister and Senior Congress Leader Siddaramaiah here on Wednesday April 20.

Addressing the protest meet organised in support of Contractor Santosh K. Patil,  and to arrest Former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa he said that the protest meeting was organised to condemn the BJP Government’s corrupt practices.

He said, “All over Karnataka, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar and I will be organising protests against corruption and price rise. This will be held in all the district headquarters before we move to the Assembly Constituencies. Never in the history of India, have we seen a communal party like the Bharatiya Janata Party. The situation is so bad that a common man is not able to live peacefully. To shield its follies, the BJP Government is raking up the communal issues.”

Siddaramaiah said, “The trouble started with Hijab row, followed by Halal cut and Bhagavad Gita. They are out to spoil peace in the society. Their narrow approach will spread hatred among all the communities.”

He said, there is an organised plan to ruin the country. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar wrote the Constitution for social justice for all the communities. BJP wants to play the Hindutva card with an eye on the vote bank. People from all the communities fought for India’s independence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised good days but that is not the case. Life has become miserable with the wrong policies of the Centre, he added.
