Mysuru: A BJP worker was mysteriously found dead near Periyapatna on late Friday evening, November 4.

The deceased has been identified as Magali Ravi (35). He is also said to be an RSS activist. It is said that Ravi was last seen when he was returning to his village in his scooter from Periyapatna after concluding a BJP meeting. A case of suspected murder has been registered with the local police by the deceased’s family.

“Ravi was a BJP worker. Our preliminary investigation shows no case of rivalry for now. The family believes it to be a suspicious death and have filed a complaint. A case under sec 302 has been registered and an IPS officer has been appointed as the investigating officer in the case”, said Ravi Chennannavar, SP, Mysuru.

Ravi’s body was found was just about a kilometer and half away from the local police station. His scooter had scratch marks.

The State government which is already dealing with the ongoing issue of deaths of RSS, BJP and Sangh parivar workers in the state will have to face more heat if Ravi’s death turns out to be a murder.
