BSY blames Congress for farmers’ woes in state

Mysuru: The ruling Congress government is in a state of coma and only its leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi could awaken it, said BJP vice-president B.S. Yeddyurappa here in Mysuru.
BSY was addressing the gathering at the conclusion of the first phase of the Raitha Chaitanya Yatre in the city. BJP national President Amit Shah was scheduled to attend the rally, but opted out because of Bihar assembly seat sharing discussions.

Referring to farmer suicides and the drought-like situation in the state, BSY said, “This is just the beginning and we won’t relent until loan waiver for farmers is announced. We demand state government to convene a special assembly session to discuss all these issues.

He also criticised CM Siddaramaiah and his ministers for not visiting drought-affected regions.

The state BJP under the leadership of Yeddyurappa and President Prahlad Joshi had organized the state wide Yatra on August 31 as parts of efforts to address issues of farmers.
